The centenary of the death of Blessed Columba Marmion will be in 2023.

He had a strong desire to found a Benedictine monastery in Ireland but this was never realised in his lifetime. In 1927, four years after his death, Maredsous made a foundation in Murroe, Co. Limerick, now Glenstal Abbey. Written in a clear and accessible style, this book emphasises the breadth and a confidence in Marmion’s teaching which puts the reader in touch with the deep spiritual sources of Christian life and at the same time suggests a certain serene freedom as to how each person drinks from those sources.
