The stories in this book are based on the real-life adventures of Cargo, the lazy Labrador, and his beastly Beauceron buddy, Atlas. They’ve wondered the woods, explored the desert, caught wild rabbits, been scared off by rattlesnakes, and even sprayed by a skunk! These boys have enjoyed their adventures and we hope you do too! From the author: I started this book on my first deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, with the thought that it would be a gift my children would enjoy while I was away. It took longer to complete than I’d thought it would; I’m not a natural artist. Plus it was being created in a war zone, so that caused a few delays. The project was put on hold when I returned home, and then I resumed it on my second deployment 2014-2015, after which I still had some work to do. When I returned home, I worked on it little by little until I finally wrapped up the last of the editing in mid-2016. Along the way, this became a family effort, with the kids giving Vicky feedback on the early drafts and Vicky passing that to me along with her artistic expertise to help improve my illustrations. This book has brought a great deal of enjoyment and happiness to our home, and we sincerely hope it does the same for you and yours!
