When I first saw the title I imagined something very serious. But when I opened the book I realized it wasn’t. In the photo book “On Photography” Matsuo takes a close look at those who are around him: his family and friends living in Sasebo (Nagasaki) and Tokyo. The moment is recorded and passed on to someone else. Maybe he just wanted to own it as a kind of charm. Or photograph it just because he felt like doing it. The book is simply on “Photography”. But that might be a fundamental role photography plays, although he might want to argue me on this topic.
