Lilah Birdsong's Original Little Perrytales
Questions about an inheritance left by her Great-grandpa Perry spark Lilah Birdsong's interest in five original folktales: "Lilah Birdsong: What's in a Name?"; "Micah's Tale: Marella's Long Hair"; "Morgen's Name: Lonely Beoba the Dear-Moose"; "The Comforting Tale: Harmon and the Heavy Stars"; and "Cleo the Spider: Easy Life in the Deep Green Forest." Interweaving the lives of her family with the adventures of magical creatures who lived centuries ago when the earth was still forming, each Perrytale provides an explanation for certain natural phenomena or illustrates the consequences of different character traits. Although Lilah's grief causes her to be indifferent at first, the tales of the mythical animals help her learn to overcome her loss and appreciate the gift of storytelling passed on to her by her great-grandfather.
