On the shores of Lake Tanganyika lies the idyllic Serole Lodge, internationally famous for the study of chimpanzees. In the summer of 2016, it plays host to a group of travellers including academics, film stars and Hiram Sidewinder, an infamous game-hunting dentist from Tennessee, with his family. As Dump's power grows, he threatens the existence of the lodge and the lives of all within it. In the middle of a tropical storm, the confrontation reaches an inevitable and terrible climax...
