Born in Wisconsin in 1914, L Marion has been Lucile Marion Erickson Whitehursts nom de plume since the 1930s. Various of L Marions poems won prizes and were published during her long career. She also raised a family and was employed at a local newspaper. Her second career fulfilled a lifelong goal to become a teacher, during which time she also completed her M.A. L Marion retired in 1979, and to this day remains a member of a writers group.
