Throughout centuries, adoption has been rooted in secrecy and shame. These ideals have bled into modern society, deeming adopted people the only minority that has not been granted equal civil rights. Our nations laws surrounding adoption were brought into existence by a notorious child trafficker, Georgia Tann. She was front and center of the sealed records movement, which ensured that her crimes would remain untraceable for decades. Society has been conditioned to believe that adoption is in the best interest of the child. However, this for-profit business model typically ensures that the infant will go to the highest bidder, not the most prepared parents. While the average Christian believes that our current adoption model is a parallel of God's divine adoption through the blood of Christ, Satan marvels at his deceitful counterfeit. It is time to listen to the most important voice in the adoption triad: the adoptees.
