Optical Communications Over Wireless and Wired Media
Optical Communications Over Wireless and Wired Media provides a much needed analysis of optical transmissions and communications over both wired and wireless media. Organized in three separate sections, the first part is devoted to the basics of optical systems (optical emitters, receivers, sources of noise, modulation, and coding for optical systems); the second part is geared toward wired optical transmissions based on optical fibers; and the third part focuses on wireless optical communications (indoor and outdoor scenarios, including modulation, channel modeling and simulation, coding, standards and applications, and free space optics).
