The profound changes generated by the technological revolution have enabled concepts like media convergence and digital divide to cross the restrictive barriers of the academic-technical-political world focused on these issues and inhabit the social imaginary of our daily conversations. Likewise, technological developments are playing an increasing role in the socialization of boys and girls in different parts of the world.
As has been highlighted by some authors, research on how children use the media has focused mainly on adolescents and school-aged children, and thus relatively little knowledge has been compiled on the reality of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
This booklet aims to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of the reader by opening up new topics that have received little attention from the world of academia and as regards public policies involving very young children.
