Principles of Endodontics
Endodontics is the area of dentistry dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the dental pulp. The pulp is the soft tissue that is located inside the tooth and contains nerves, arteries, veins and lymph tissue. Endodontic therapy (root canal) is a form of treatment that will save diseased or injured teeth by removing the diseased pulp tissue. The alternative to endodontics is extraction. This book provides undergraduate dentistry students with a comprehensive, full colour, step-by-step guide to endodontics, a key area of restorative dentistry, which is taught throughout the clinical years of the dentistry curriculum.
