The Little Folk of the Mountain is a book for elementary school children, as well as the child in all of us. It is a story about the adventures of eight years old twins who mysteriously find themselves in the Mountain Home of a colony of elves. Elves usually live in remote parts of the world, far from human habitation. Their lives are governed by the seasons of nature. Most important to them is the time of the full moon, which they celebrate, with their Dance of the Full Moon, when the moon rides high in the sky. In the beginning of the story the elves want nothing to do with the twins who have found their way into their mountain home. However as the story unfolds the Queen of the elves recognizes that there is some purpose to the twins being among them and gradually introduces them into some of the secrets of their wonderful way of life and how they protect themselves from danger. On several occasions the elves apply their talents in saving the twins and their family from harm. These situations, exciting adventures for the twins, are the main thrust of the story.
