"The 2012 volume of The Baltic Yearbook of International Law contains 14 articles solicited from the 4th Research Forum of the European Society of International Law that was organized by the University of Tartu and took place in May 2011 in Tallinn, Estonia. The volume is edited by Professor Lauri Mälksoo and Judge Ineta Ziemele, and deals with international law in the post-Soviet space. Articles have been written by both prominent and upcoming Russian and Western international law scholars and practitioners and deal with the following questions: Russian Federation's general concept of international law, the similarity or difference of state recognition in Kosovo, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, the application of international and European human rights law in CIS countries, and legal aspects of energy security in the Caspian and the Baltic Sea region."
