Prince Carl Philip has portrayed the Uppsala botanic garden photographically. A garden in which Olof Rudbeck the older, Carolus Linnaeus, Peter Thunberg and botanists of their ilk sowed their seeds and planted their knowledge through the ages. The garden hails back to the 17th century and may even have inspired the young prince who later became King Gustavus III. He once met Linnaeus, and later donated the Uppsala castle gardens to Uppsaqla University, having been convenced by Yhunberg the apprentice. This donation also included funds to construct the Linneaum in the garden. It was inaugurated in 1807 , one hundred years aftewr Linnaeus' birth.
