Still more remarkable is the fact that together with vast numbers of letters of hearty appreciation came strong appeals for yet another helpful guide to better gardening on similar lines, thus confirming beyond question the view that the desire for horticultural literature which is soundly practical and plainly instructive is greater to-day than ever. It is also proof positive that the two volumes above named fulfilled their purpose and augur well for the success of this, the third of Amateur Gardenings Great Gift Books. Departing, in this instance, from general gardening, it is meet that a work of specialist character should deal with the flower that is more ardently loved and widely grown than any other. Hence our irepration of The Rose Growers Treasury. To justify its production, a book of technical character must teach some thing and provide information which is fresh as well as serviceable.
