This new book by globally recognized Pentecostal scholar Frank Macchia brings an incarnational and a Spirit Christology together in fresh ways.


Macchia begins his Christology with John the Baptist's announcement that Christ will baptize in the Holy Spirit and fire. That announcement points to Christological fulfillment in Pentecost and sets up Christology throughout the New Testament.


Drawing from classical and contemporary sources, Jesus the Spirit Baptizer probes the fundamental connection between the person of Christ and the Holy Spirit. From that perspective, Macchia argues that Christology explicates Jesus as the one who bears the Spirit so as to impart the Spirit on all flesh.
