Creative Problem Solving introduces a whole-brain framework for living and working successfully in the high-tech, competitive, global environment of the 21st century. The focus is on teamwork -- people from all walks of life, from students to professionals, can benefit through self-study or as part of a human resource development group. Case studies, team activities, and many open-ended assignments enhance the skills being taught. First, the relationship between creativity and memory is visualized. The four-quadrant brain model of thinking preference provides an appreciation for different thinking skills and an understanding of how to overcome barrier to creativity. Creative thinking is applied to computer use, in the iterative Pugh method for developing superior ideas, in communications, and in invention, thus building a bridge between culture and technology. Thinking tools used in the industry are described, such as SPC, QFD, FMEA, FTA, Taguchi methods and TQM.
