Job changes are common. According to the Bureau of Labor statistics, the average person faces about 10 job changes during one's (paid) employment careers between the ages of 18 and 40. Many of these employment changes are involuntary, being the result of company downsizing, rightsizing, layoffs and terminations. Over 14.5 million people in the U.S. experienced some unemployment in 2005. Many other people change jobs because they are dissatisfied with their jobs.
