Los Bitchos are an international surf/psychedelic instrumental band whose members come from all four corners of the world: UK, Australia, Sweden and South America. Their sound moves somewhere between Peruvian chicha, cumbia, Turkish psych, surf guitars and of course a bit of Swedish pop. Serra Petale (guitar), Agustina Ruiz (keytar), Josefine Jonsson (bass) and Nic Crawshaw (drums) met at late-night house parties or through friends. That's where their unique sound comes from. It's akin to having their spiritual cousins Khruangbin - who are also Los Bitchos fans, by the way - get high on cheap mezcal for a night at the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston.
Los Bitchos are probably THE new favorite party band. Their instrumental tracks evoke scenes of strutting into a desert saloon and lighting a row of flaming sambucas, riding with a Tarantino heroine in the passenger seat, or having the fiesta of a lifetime with all your friends under a giant piñata. The keytarist's grandfather is a Uruguayan cowboy, so what else can one wonder about? Her debut album! "Let The Festivities Begin!" will be released on February 4th, 2022 and was produced by Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand) at the Gallery Studios in London - the recording space owned by Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera.
