Three scientists are working together, carrying out chemical experiments. Although they are colleagues, they are not friends. Two of them have a grudge against the third - they believe he is hiding something from them. A pretty woman is arrested on suspicion of stealing jewellery and there is substantial evidence against her. The police believe she is guilty, but two private investigators, Robin Webster and Freddy Larson, find that something just doesn't make sense.
