Real Writers, the quality support and appraisal service for aspiring writers, joined forces with The Book Pl@ce in 2001 to create a brand new award for writers of short fiction. The competition invited stories of up to 5000 words in any style, genre or subject and attracted over 3500 entries, with a first prize of 2500. This anthology features the ten regional winners and includes the overall winning story.
