Spiritual expression has taken artistic and poetic forms throughout the history of Christianity. In their practice of this ancient charism, a group of lay Dominicans (an Order founded by Saint Dominic in the 13th century) have collected their poetry, short fiction, and drawings for this volume. The settings and themes range from the concerns of Berkeley street characters and immigrants, the hopes of those in distressed areas of the world, and the meditations and lyrical prayers of ordinary working people. Readers are invited to enter the spiritual life of this community as revealed in these works.
