My Emotional Journey into Loneliness
In this, the second part of Kathy's autobiography, the search for the right care home, good care and professional help continues. Along with the practical challenges there are increasing anxieties, depression and, at times, violent behaviour, but we also see how vitally important ordinary pleasures are, such as a boat trip, a meal out, a birthday present, a visit from a friend, a shopping trip or a box of chocolates! These really matter to Kathy. Quite simply, they give her quality of life. She has also enjoyed completing many jigsaw puzzles and considers those with 500 pieces a real challenge, which she says helps her to concentrate and escape to her room, where she feels safe.
