Intended for courses in principalship, the purpose of this book is to explore the dimensions of leadership in theory and in practice and to demonstrate how principals can substantially improve schooling. As a contributed work, it addresses the issues in a very different manner from the usual text— i.e., the book's strength lies in the different perspectives the authors bring to their subjects. The contributions made by well- known education authorities focus particularly on instructional and curricular concerns. Together they agree that the role of the school principal can no longer be simply that of management, but that today's principals must also be leaders. And, they describe how a leader behaves.
