David Lachapelle Edizione Italiana e Inglese
David LaChapelle, the celebrated American commercial photographer, fine-art photographer, music video director, film director, and artist, comes back to Rome after a gap of fifteen years, with one of the most exhaustive retrospective exhibitions of his work. Featuring over 150 works, some presented in a museum setting for the first time, this retrospective includes many large-scale and vintage works (mostly from the last ten years). Best known for his photography, which often references art history and sometimes conveys social messages, LaChapelle's photographic style has been described as "hyper-real and slyly subversive" and as "kitsch pop surrealism". One 1996 article called him the "Fellini of photography", a phrase that continues to be applied to him.
