The Alphabet Starters series uses a communicative approach to teach phonics to preschool children. It uses a variety of listening and speaking activities, such as, songs, chants, and games. It also introduces reading and writing through letter-recognition puzzles and handwriting exercises.

The Student Book enables children to be actively involved in using the language through activities.
