Erinnert Verdrangt Verehrt - Was ist Reformierten heilig? Vortrage der 10. Emder Tagung zur Geschichte des reformierten Protesta
Confessional identity is fed not only from memories and traditions, but also from repression and veneration. The volume brings together interdisciplinary essays that explore these complex processes of reformed identity formation. They ask whether and what is "sacred" for the Reformed. In addition to the question of "saints", of church discipline and of the Reformed narratives of memory in the 20th century, church buildings, for example, also come into focus as a repository of historical information. The contributions offer stimulating impulses in the discussion about denominational cultures of remembrance.
