CRIME SCENE RECONSTRUCTION DYNAMICS
Crime scene reconstruction is a field long dominated by those with backgrounds in chemistry, biology, and forensic pathology. But questions related to the trajectory of a bullet, the breaking of a body falling down a staircase, or the force with which a baseball bat is swung are within the province of mechanical engineering. In fact, many concepts in mechanical engineering apply directly to the analysis of crime scenes, as statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, fluids, hermodynamics, biomechanics, and engineering analysis all play a part in crime scene analysis. This book melds the disciplines of crime scene reconstruction and engineering for an interdisciplinary approach to answer common crime scene questions.
