Set in the Bronx between 1980-1982, the world is changing but life goes on as usual in the immigrant bars of Bainbridge Avenue. As Sean arrives from Ireland looking for his girlfriend, he actually finds more than he bargained for: Danny McCorley, a book-loving immigrant construction worker with a shadowy past in the Irish Republican movement.
