Blue Army: An Investigation Into the Nature and Extent of Racism in Portsmouth
Description
Many aspects of our everyday lives contribute towards our attitudes regarding racial or ethnic difference. Contemporary Britain is undoubtedly multicultural.
For many decades cities such as London, Birmingham and Manchester have been renowned for their ethnically diverse communities; however, the focus of my study is the small south coast city of Portsmouth. This is an example of a city that doesn't have a reputation of being particularly multicultural compared to the aforementioned regions.
Britain is continually changing and from my experiences Portsmouth could struggle to adapt, leaving the city segregated. This project is focused on obtaining data of how Portsmouth is coping with these developments.
