New York detective Dennis Talbert is baffled by the murder of three women in a local bank. He believes the target of the shooting was the bank's loan officer. One of the other murdered women, Susan Russo, is not seen as the gunman's intended victim, but simply a bystander caught in the crossfire and she is classified as an innocent killing. Talbert's investigation takes him into a realm he has never been in before. Although he knows in his heart who the killer is, he cannot prove it. The killer has picked the perfect place to hide out and Talbert must wait for his prey to emerge.
