Gerald Goldberg - A Tribute
Goldberg played a pivotal role in the social, economic and cultural development of Cork and in changing attitudes towards Ireland's Jewish community. This title provides a fascinating look at an individual who began his life as an outcast, and who throughout his career represented the downtrodden as well as 'the great and the good'. He was ultimately elected to be his city's 'First Citizen'.Goldberg was the first Jewish President of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland. He was on the Board of Governors of the National Gallery of Ireland and was deeply involved with the Cork Orchestral Society, Irish Theatre Ballet and lunchtime concerts in the Cork School of Art.
