Debuting in its first edition, Taking the Initiative focuses on the question of whether or not consultants wield undue influence on the outcome of ballot measures, this text examines the important role consultants play in the political arena. Using interviews with consultants and data from surveys of consultants, this study examines the impact consultants have on ballot campaigns and brings to light their influence on the democratic process.
