This work explores the area of adults at risk with a mental disorder in Scotland and how the relative legislative frameworks interrelate to provide those persons with support and protection. The primary Acts which concern adults at risk with mental disorder in Scotland are: (a) the Adults with Incapacity (Scot) Act 2000; (b) the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; and (c) the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. The work takes a novel and inventive approach to the application of these Acts, focusing on their provisions in a collective way as if they might exist in one 'Collective Act'. This book seeks to assist key practitioners in supporting and protective adults at risk while working across the Acts.
