A Dictionary of Nigerian Arabic
A Dictionary of Nigerian Arabic lists (from English into Nigerian Arabic) approximately 6,000 lexemes with some illustrative sentences. The dictionary gives evidence of a dialect change in a diachronic span of nearly 50 years; this particular dialect reflects the confluence of Eastern and Western Arabic (Lake Chad to Kano).
The work is geared to be of use to the specialist in comparative Arabic dialectology and to the general linguist interested in Afroasiatic data from a synchronic point of view as well as to the Africanist dealing with linguistic diffusion and borrowing.
