Jorma Luhta (born 1951), a sensitive observer of wild life and listener to its sounds, takes his readers along with him on a series of excursions among the barren upland fells of Nothern Lapland, to marvel at the scenery and make observations at close quarters on the lives of the lemmings, arctic foxes and the magnificent variety of birds to be found there.
