Common-Sense Thermodynamics
Thermodynamics is applicable in numerous fields of science. However many students, and even scientists, look upon thermodynamics as complex and difficult to master. Written in an easy-to-follow style, this book shows that thermodynamics can in fact be readily understood. It gives especially good explanations of basic thermodynamic principles such as reversible work, entropy, the relationship of free energy with activity and equilibrium, Raoultian vs. Henrian (and other) standard states, and the prediction of phase stability from partial free energies of solution. The book is recommended for students, scientists wishing to review thermodynamics, or persons having just a general interest in science.
