This work comprises a catalogue of marks designed to include all those that appear more than once on decorated Attic vases (for the partial exclusion of Attic glazed vases) as well as a complete lists of those on vases of ther fabrics. A commentary on the several types of ark discussed their interpretation, script and distribution, as well as relevant aspects of the vases on which they are cut. The introductiory chapters 'Aspects of Trademarks' deal with broader topics, bringing together the result obtained in the catalogue and commentary.
