Although little known today, Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900) was a noted Czech composer of his time, much influenced by Schumann, Listzt and Wagner. Perhaps the most fascinating of his piano works is the extensive collection of 376 highly individual miniatures entitled 'Moods, Impressions and Souvenirs', dedicated to his mistress. This album contains 26 of the easier pieces, together with two others.
