One of the most accomplished folksingers of the sixties, Joan Baez was an instrumental figure in the decade’s civil rights movement. Possessing an operatic soprano voice with a strong vibrato, she crossed over from folk to rock and country while maintaining a politically charged message. This release contains her first LP, originally issued on the Vanguard label, the self- titled debut Joan Baez (released in October 1960). Ten bonus tracks from the same period have been added.
