It's 2005, Venice. Giacomo Casanova wakes in a familiar room. His most recent memory is of dying the night before. However, his body is young again and his sexual powers have returned. In search of an explanation for his supernatural resurrection, he ventures out into the streets of modern Venice. Much has changed, but the women are as beautiful as ever. In a nearby bar, he encounters Cristiana, a young waitress who is quickly seduced by his old-school charm.
One morning, shortly after, Casanova receives an invitation to a mysterious masked ball. He and Cristiana attend the event, which turns out to be opulently decadent; an orgy that even Casanova is shocked by. As he and Cristiana retreat to the beach to embrace without the company of others, Casanova spies the arrival of a power-boat. A tall, imposing man disembarks. He leads a stunning young woman, naked but for her mask and high heels, by a leash fastened to a collar around her neck. Casanova is hypnotized by this vision.
Dragging Cristiana reluctantly along, Casanova attempts to follow the couple but soon loses their trail in the confusion of sexual activity. He is determined to find the other woman again.
