Designed to introduce students to the ways that American culture structures the outcomes of political life, this text addresses American culture and politics with a three-phase approach: it first provides students with a careful analysis of what culture is, as well as its political significance; then offers four distinctive American cultural characteristics; and then encourages students to consider how these values influence modern political life.
