In the 1990s, in the company of Daniel Barenboim, Perlman shed new light on repertoire he had recorded in the past: two nineteenth century German concertos (with cellist Yo-Yo Ma in a live performance of the Brahms Double) and two contrasting Russian works from the 1930s.
