The Imperial War Museums has a collection of over 30,000 British Government wartime posters and proclamations. 2014 marks the centenary of the start of the First World War and to mark that occasion, the Imperial War Museums Diary 2015 showcases the best of the posters and proclamations from that period from around the world. The posters contain stirring messages exhorting the citizens of respective countries to "do their bit". As well as representing a unique period of social history, the posters are also of interest for their graphic style.
