An Assessment of the Favourable Conservation Status of the Rekijoki River Valley Habitats
The publication has applied the consept of favourable conservation status to concern both Natura area specific evaluations and compartment specific evaluations. In this study, no threshold values have veen created for the favourable conservation status, because creating them would require more extensive collecting of biological data and acquaintance with ecological processes. In the area there were also compartments that were not easily categorisable into any of the Natura habitat types, and for them, the management goals have been left open. These areas are like building blocks in the mosaic formed by traditional biotopes and old forest.
