Part peepshow, part church box confessional, "The Devil You Don't Know" offers a glimpse into the lives of two willful and alluring young Newfoundlanders as they sift through the rubble of their depraved relationship. Set concurrently in St. John's and Halifax, the play lends voice to the new post-hope-twenty-something generation Newfoundlander. Pocked with tales of shoplifting, abortion, self-mutilation, inflatable lovers, career delusions, drunken hooliganism, and the pros and cons of oral sex, "The Devil You Don't Know" is not for the faint of spirit. It is an ambitious black comedy of the new Newfoundland, containing no salt fish and no ugly sticks.
