This is a collection of five short books and booklets: Love's Several Faces, Getting One's Priorities in Order, A sense of Precious, Building a User-Friendly Society, and The Johnny Appleseed of Smiles. The first explores the concept of love, and suggests that the wide ranging, often indiscriminant use of the term has rendered it confusing if not all quite meaningless. Alternatives are suggested to sharpen our thinking and enhance our deepest mental functioning. The second talks about positive values, how to discover them, set them into a meaningful hierarchy, and make sure you actually live your life according to them. It includes three steps essential for a happy, humanity-friendly, life. The third work presents the belief that a sense of preciousness is an essential, basic, predisposition that everyone must possess and demonstrate in his approach to living. The author provides clear, practical suggestions for instilling it in our children. The fourth book suggests how all of these things can be put in place to build a truly user-friendly society - World. The fifth little piece recalls a time, at five, when the author was sure a good, daily, dose of well-placed, genuine, smiles was all the World needed to cure its ills. (He still believes he's right - well, mostly!)
