The Agro Pontino Archaeological Survey
The Agro Pontino archaeological survey was conducted from 1979 to 1989, over seven seasons. The goals of the survey were threefold: to describe the distribution of archaeological surface materials, to place these materials within a chronological framework (spanning from the Middle Palaeolithic to the Post-Roman period), and to determine for each prehistoric period the factors contributing to the distribution observed. In addition there is an emphasis on the changing prehistoric landscape and land-use. This CD is a sequel volume to the overview of the archaeological survey activities published in 1991.
