Following the failure of her marriage Ella moves into a new home on the south coast of England. Her plan is to open a guest-house and start a new life, but her old life turns out to be more difficult to get rid of than she expected. Things take a turn for the better when Ella meets Gordon, a local carpenter, but not everything is plain sailing, especially when the past begins to haunt her, causing her to wonder about her own sanity.
