The "VOXEL-MAN 3D-Navigator: Upper Limb" is the latest addition to a new member of a series of interactive atlases of anatomy and radiology. It follows the "VOXEL-MAN 3D-Navigators: Brain and Skull and Inner Organs". The program is based on a high resolution realistic digital body model that was derived from the cross-sectional images of the Visible Human Project. It contains about 320 three-dimensional anatomical objects of the arm and the hand including bones, muscles, arteries, and nerves, as well as tendons and ligaments. The material is organized into 11 scenes that can be interactively explored and additionally viewed in stereoscopic vision. The anatomical nomenclature is available in Latin, English and German, while the manual is available in English and German. The program provides unique reference material not only for medical students, but also for professionals in all medical disciplines involving anatomy and radiology. However, interested non-specialists can also explore the inner structure of the human body using the 3D-Navigator.
