This book looks at the life of the common US soldier during World War I. It follows the Doughboy throughout the war, as well as touching on the experiences of those men who would have served in the Philippines or Mexico in the years leading up to the landings in France. The appearance, equipment and weaponry of the American soldier are also discussed. This book also looks beyond war's end in November of 1918, to cover occupational duty in Germany and discusses the experiences of those sent to Russia and Italy.
